Our initiatives
CONSTRUCTION & BUILDING
- Achieved U.S. LEED (Gold) and Hong Kong BEAM Plus (Gold) standards
- Over 20% of building materials are from recycled contents
- Pledge to turn off decorative/promotional lighting from 11p.m. to 7a.m. following the Government’s Charter on External Lighting
REFRESHMENTS
- Drinking water from Nordaq Fresh, an eco-friendly tap water filtration system
- Surplus food sent to Foodlink Foundation for those in need
- Used Nespresso capsules collected for recycling into various products
- Coffee grounds turned into compost or green energy
- Yolly bamboo straws used
- Eco-friendly take away boxes and cups made from bamboo powder and corn starch. No disposable plastic containers or cutleries
TOILETERIES & OTHER WASTES
- Used toiletry bottles cleaned and sent to the central recycling area
- Soaps sent to Soap Cycling, helping disadvantaged communities
- Eco-friendly, biodegradable laundry sheets for long-staying residents
- Housekeeping sorts and recycles waste; In-room recycling bin for glass and aluminum
- Christmas and Peach Blossom Trees recycled annually
- Guest toiletry items made from wood or bamboo
- Bamboo room keycards
- Eco-pencil with plant seed for guest planting
- All lights in vacant units turned off
- Sustainability message on wooden plate encouraging eco-friendly practices
- Umbrella dryers replacing plastic umbrella bags
- Invisible bag (water-soluble, compostable, biodegradable) in guest rooms
- Electric vehicle as residence shuttle for lower carbon emissions
